This project fits within our ‘Community Facilities’ and ‘Learning, Employability and Enterprise’ themes.

Access to good quality child care is essential not only for children’s development but to enable parents to access employment and/or educational opportunities.

ERCET have identified a gap in child care services in the Barrhead area for children aged 0-3 years.  We have been awarded £10,000 from the Big Lottery to fund feasibility and business planning for the restoration of an historic disused building in the town.  The plan is to create a 26 place Community Nursery to support parents to return to work and provide learning and employment opportunities for local residents.
